The Epiphany Players

Mission

The Epiphany Players Worship provides a wonderful setting and opportunity for expressing our love, praise and honor to the King of kings. We accomplish this most often through song. Yet there are a variety of other ways to respond to our desire to worship our Lord and to express ourselves. The spoken word is one of these, both in the context of readings from the Scriptures and dramatic presentations based on Biblical principles and their application to our everyday lives.

The Dramatic Arts Ministry attempts to provide an outlet for these expressions of worship through dramatic readings, sermon sketches and chancel dramas. We also seek to express ourselves through liturgical dance and through children’s offerings, such as musical sermons. Each of these media provide unique and fulfilling opportunities to demonstrate in word and action how the Lord speaks to us through His Word. They also allow us to take advantage of the many talents that God has blessed us with.

The Epiphany PlayersWe are also blessed with a rich liturgical heritage in the Anglican church, which allows us to focus special attention on various “feast days” throughout the church year such as Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Holy Week, Easter and Pentecost. We do this through visual presentation (the way we prepare the Holy Table, the vestments that are worn, the use of floral arrangements) and through special presentations that direct us to the unique meaning that these seasons of the year have for us. Among the opportunities we have pursued at Church of the Epiphany are the annual Lenten series, Epiphany plays, Christmas pageants, Advent Lessons and Carols, and dramatic readings of the Passion Gospel.
