UshersMissionA layperson that welcomes worshipers into the Sanctuary and provide assistance as necessary. Duties and ServicesUshers greet and welcome congregants prior to the service, assist those in need and offer direction to classrooms and other church facilities, accept tithes and offerings, maintain an orderly flow of people during communion and assist with seating when necessary. The ushers also monitor the children returning from Children’s Chapel and help with locating parents, keep a count of attendance, and clean up following the service. Volunteer PositionsA group of ushers serves in the role described above. Additionally, an usher coordinator prepares schedules and oversees training. Each service has a Head Usher RequirementsUshers are parish members who are adults or older youth. Couples and parent child teams emphasize the family nature of Epiphany.
