Minimal Accountability Criteria for Epiphany Missionaries

  1. Annual report on ministry – include accomplishments, plans, needs, budget
  2. Quarterly ministry updates – prayer requests, updates on particular projects or needs
  3. Affiliation or sending organization must be member of Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability or a reputable church with accounting standards
  4. Be reasonably responsive to any correspondence from Epiphany and engage with Missions Committee Point of Contact.

Principles Guiding Decision-Making of Missionary Support Requests

  1. Statement of faith and core values must be consistent with Epiphany’s
  2. Person or organization has link with someone at Epiphany is a preference
  3. Nationals rather than second culture missionaries is a preference
  4. Agree to minimal accountability criteria (see above) of the Missions Committee
  5. Geographic focus is not overly concentrated in any one area
  6. Do not seek to be primary support for any missionary
  7. Have a compelling mission by the standards of Epiphany’s vision statement

Principles to Guide Decision-Making for Financial Support Sought for Short-Term Mission/Vision Trips

As of 9/14/2008

  1. Missionary trip sponsor’s statement of faith and core values must be consistent with Epiphany’s.
  2. Preference is given to a person or organization having a link with Epiphany.
  3. Beneficiary must request financial support at least three months in advance of trip departure. By doing so, the Missions Committee may serve as a faithful partner in prayer during the period when the trip is planned and executed.
  4. Beneficiary must present a trip plan and budget with adequate detail that can be evaluated by the Missions Committee.
  5. Preference is given to requests that are accompanied by a structured, wider fund raising strategy.
  6. Preference is given to teenagers and young people.
  7. Unless for extraordinary circumstances, support should not exceed 20% of the total trip cost for any individual.
  8. Beneficiary agrees to provide feedback to the Missions Committee after the trip.
