Serving Those in Need in Our Local CommunityFACETSHot Meals ProgramThe Fairfax Area Christian Emergency and Transitional Services (FACETS) organization has a Hot Meals program which supplies dinner each night of the year to families living in motels in Fairfax area. This group is made up of more than 26 churches and Epiphany has been part of this program since its inception. For more information, please visit their website http://www.facetscares.org/. Angel Tree ProgramWe work with charitable organizations, (primarily Western Fairfax Christian Ministries (WFCM) and Fairfax Area Christian Emergency and Transitional Services, Inc. (FACETS), to provide holiday assistance in the form of food and gift donations to families in need at Christmastime. Epiphany families are able to share in the blessing of giving through their many generous donations. Ragan OaksUnder the auspices of FACETS, services are provided to housing residents at Ragan Oaks, which is located on the perimeter of nearby Fair Oaks Mall. A special area in the apartment complex has been donated for residents and their children to learn life skills (for the adults) and experience educational enrichment (for the children and adults who use the center's on-site computer facilities). Tutoring for school-aged children is a priority, and FACETS prefers that this begin and end with the school year so please sign up soon for tutoring in the Fall. Additional volunteer service opportunities exist as well to help in this local outreach effort. In from the ColdThe Hypothermia Response Program is a joint effort of FACETS and Fairfax County Government, in cooperation with many churches and the Lamb Center of Fairfax. The specific objective is that there will be zero hypothermia deaths in Fairfax County. For weeks during the winter, the churches each provided a week of overnight lodging, food, love, prayers, and Christian fellowship for an average of about 75 guests per night. We provide fellowship, meals and snacks, security, and prayer support. WFCMWestern Fairfax Christian Ministries (WFCM)
