Compassion

The Compassion Project at Epiphany continues to grow and embrace more families and individuals who have taken the step to rescue a child from poverty in Jesus’ name. As a parish, we now sponsor more than 150 children throughout the developing world. If you would like to sponsor a child or learn more about sponsorship, you can access the Compassion site directly through the Compassion Project at Epiphany’s unique link: www.compassion.com/sponsor/index.asp?referer=63456

Sponsor a child in Tanzania? Why not visit them? We plan to participate in another mission trip, this time returning to Tanzania to visit the many kids we sponsor there. The trip is scheduled for July 10-17, 2010. More information will be available soon and sign ups are beginning already. If you are interested in going on this life-changing trip, please send an email to epiphanycompassion@gmail.com with TZ trip in the subject line.

This summer we held our fifth Compassion Sunday, with a slightly broader focus on the importance of ministering to children. Babette Arnold spoke about our commitment to raising Godly children in the church, in the community and in the world. Through Compassion sponsorship, we rescue a child in the developing world from hopelessness, and in doing so, we model the love of Christ for our own children and help our kids learn how they can make a difference. As a family, you can write to your child together, pray for him or her and study your child’s country. These are some of the ways Compassion sponsorship can involve the whole family:
