Serve

At Epiphany we have a passion for serving our church, our community and the world.

Here are some examples of how we serve at our church:

With our children in worship, music and teaching:

And we serve our Community:

Western Fairfax Christian Ministries (WFCM)

Western Fairfax Christian Ministries (WFCM) provides immediate life-essential support to those clients seeking assistance. Support includes the provision of food, clothing, transportation, utilities, rent, and help with medical expenses. It is provided as an expression of God’s love and an opportunity to share the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. There are many volunteer opportunities including the Food Pantry, Clothing Closet, Transportation, On-Call Ministry and School Supplies. For more information, please visit their website http://wfcmva.org/.

And our World:

Compassion International

The Compassion Project at Epiphany continues to grow and embrace more families and individuals who have taken the step to rescue a child from poverty in Jesus’ name. As a parish, we now sponsor more than 150 children throughout the developing world. If you would like to sponsor a child or learn more about sponsorship, you can access the Compassion site directly through the Compassion Project at Epiphany’s unique link: www.compassion.com/sponsor/index.asp?referer=63456.

Wings

The Wings Ministry seeks to support our deployed military members and their families, as well as others deployed to dangerous areas in service of our country. Names submitted are not necessarily members of Epiphany - and not necessarily in the military. Relatives, friends, acquaintances, co-workers who are deployed may also be humanitarian workers, or in diplomatic service, or serving our country in other ways. We keep them covered in prayer, and send out cards, Bibles, and care packages. Pictures of those who are deployed, and their families, are placed on the "Wings Wall" in the Great Hall. We use first names only, to protect the privacy of the families.

We will also look to support the wounded in our local hospitals and beyond our area, and support outreach efforts as requested by our deployed members. We have sent Christmas packages to an entire unit in Iraq, and sent clothing to Afghanistan in support of Operation Care.

To add someone to our Wings wall, please contact Jan Coffee at 703-757-9550, or email her at , including "Wings" in the email title. Please also contact Jan if you are interested in supporting this ministry, need a list of items that are recommended for care packages, or would like to be kept informed of our efforts and needs.

This is just a few examples of how we serve. What has God called you to do? To learn more, contact Steve Mentzer at
