Wings

The Wings Ministry seeks to support our deployed military members and their families, as well as others deployed to dangerous areas in service of our country. Names submitted are not necessarily members of Epiphany - and not necessarily in the military. Relatives, friends, acquaintances, co-workers who are deployed may also be humanitarian workers, or in diplomatic service, or serving our country in other ways. We keep them covered in prayer, and send out cards, Bibles, and care packages. Pictures of those who are deployed, and their families, are placed on the "Wings Wall" in the Great Hall. We use first names only, to protect the privacy of the families.

We will also look to support the wounded in our local hospitals and beyond our area, and support outreach efforts as requested by our deployed members. We have sent Christmas packages to an entire unit in Iraq, and sent clothing to Afghanistan in support of Operation Care. In July and August 2008 we are supporting Operation Worship, an effort to send 100,000 Bibles to our military in 100 days. Operation Worship Bibles are also available at Joy Unlimited, the Christian bookstore located in downtown Fairfax.
