ChildrenOur MissionThe mission of Children’s Ministry at the Church of the Epiphany is to support families as they disciple their children into a saving and active faith in Jesus Christ. We want all children to love and trust Jesus, to know God’s great love for them, and to experience the power of the Holy Spirit in their lives. Our programs are carefully designed to meet each child where he is, to help him grow in his faith and worship God with his whole heart. NurseryIn our Nursery, a dedicated team of volunteer adults and teens provides safe and loving care for our youngest members and visitors. On Sunday mornings during the 9:00 Education Hour, the Nursery is available for children in Kindergarten and younger. During the 10:00 worship service, it is open to children 3 years and under. KidsTimeOffered during the Sunday 9:00 Education Hour for children aged 6-12, KidsTime is a fun time of art, games, and drama. Classes are in blocks of eight or four weeks, following the adult class schedule, and are based on stories from the Bible and the lives of saints and missionaries.
Sunday SchoolWe offer Sunday School during the 10:00 Service for children 3 years old through children in the 6th grade. There are three classes: 3 year-olds – Kindergarten, 1st – 3rd grade, and 4th – 6th grade. Children begin in the Service with their families and follow the cross out to their classes after the Processional Hymn. They return to their families before Holy Communion. My Great Big God for the pre-school class, and God’s Big Picture for our elementary aged children take children through the major characters and themes of God’s Word. Its chronological approach will give children an understanding of the Bible as a picture of God’s plan and purposes. Lessons are designed to engage children with God and get them excited about the wonderful way He has revealed Himself to us. Pre-schoolThis is a loving and welcoming, Christ-centered program for young children where they find joy in exploring and discovering the wonderful world God has created for them, where the atmosphere and environment will motivate children to be all God has intended for them. Our purpose is to involve young children in hands-on outreach through monthly service projects. Our Bible verse theme is “serve one another in love” (Galatians 5:13). We create awareness and provide assistance to neighbors in need locally and also assist neighbors in our global community who need our support and encouragement.
